After building a 14-point halftime lead (28-14) and going ahead by as many as 18 (34-16, 16:57) early in the second half, William Paterson held off several mini New Jersey City runs, never seeing its edge dwindle below nine points for the remainder of the contest.
WP owned a 61-43 rebounding advantage, including a 29-13 edge on the offensive glass, and a +6 turnover margin (22-16) that resulted in an 18-4 lead in points off turnovers.
Ebony Cunningham posted a double-double for NJCU with 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Ashley Freeman contributed 12 tallies.
