Baseball Drops 18-6 Decision to No. 25 Keene State

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – William Paterson (5-5) lost to No. 25 Keene State, 18-6, in baseball action March 19 at the Greater Phoenix Invitational.

Junior Derek Koppinger (Columbia, N.J./North Warren) was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored to lead the Pioneer offense. Senior Dan Limone (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) was 2-for-3 and scored a run, while sophomore Mike Guadango (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) was 2-for-3 with a RBI.

William Paterson tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the first, but Keene State scored six runs in the second and two more in the fourth to take control of the contest. KSC is ranked 25th in this week's d3baseball.com Poll.

Junior Dan VandeVrede (Lincoln Park, N.J./Pequannock) suffered the loss (1-1), allowing eight earned runs and nine hits in 2.0 innings.

William Paterson will face Southern Maine Thursday, March 20, at 10:00 a.m. MT.
