WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (1-1) earned its first team victory of the year, defeating SUNY Maritime (0-1) 133-85 Nov. 4.
Four Pioneers were double winners against the Privateers. Junior
Kirk Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) touched first in the 200 IM (2:11.64) and the 100 breast (1:07.46), while senior
David Caputo (Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis) won the 500 (5:16.18) and 1,000 (10:56.58) frees. Senior
Michael O'Shea (Edgewater, N.J./Leonia) was the winner of the one-meter (189.37) and three-meter (159.97) dives, and junior
Voyta Karas (Brno, Czech Republic) finished first in the 100 (49.40) and 200 (1:51.47) frees. Junior
Stefan Rosales (Rahway, St. Joseph's-Metuchen) added a victory in the 100 back (58.77).
William Paterson will return to action Saturday, Nov. 8, at Baruch at 11:00 a.m.
