WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's basketball team will host Kean to decide the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament championship Saturday, Feb. 24, at 3:00 p.m. at the WPU Rec Center.
The top-seeded Pioneers (22-4, 11-2 NJAC) won the NJAC's North Division and shared the overall regular-season crown with Kean (23-3, 11-2 NJAC). William Paterson defeated the Cougars 69-57 Jan. 27, and therefore own the tiebreaker, and with it, home-court advantage throughout the tournament.
William Paterson punched its ticket to the final with a 64-55 victory against Rutgers-Newark Feb. 22 in the semifinals, while Kean defeated The College of New Jersey in the other semifinal, 79-68.
The first 200 William Paterson students with valid I.D. will be admitted to the Pioneers' game(s) for free, courtesy of the Student Government Association. All other William Paterson students with I.D., as well as senior citizens and children 12 and under, will be admitted for $2.00. The general admission ticket price is $5.00.
