Pellichero's 17 Points Lead WPU to 64-53 Victory against Arcadia

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD. (NOVEMBER 18, 2006) - Junior 5-4 guard Michelle Pellichero (Milltown, N.J./Bishop Ahr) scored 17 points to lead the William Paterson women's basketball team (1-1) to a 64-53 victory against Arcadia (0-2) in the consolation game of the Seahawk Tipoff Classic Nov. 18 at St. Mary's (Md.).

Pellichero was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts. She posted 14 points and four steals against Christopher Newport in the tournament's first round Nov. 17.

Sophomore 5-11 forward Asia Johnson (Wildwood, N.J./Wildwood) contributed 10 points, six rebounds and three steals for the Pioneers.

WPU won the game with its defense, coming up with 20 steals off 33 Arcadia turnovers.

William Paterson will make its home debut Tuesday, Nov. 21, hosting New York City Tech at 6:00 p.m.
