WAYNE, N.J. – Softball sophomore outfielder Christina Zippler (Blackwood, N.J./Washington Twp.) was named William Paterson’s Pioneer of the Week for March 31.
Zippler batted .533 with six runs, three RBI, and a home run last week as WP posted a 4-0 record. She was 1-for-3 with two stolen bases in a 4-1 win at Manhattanville March 26, and 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-4 victory against the Valiants. Zippler was then a combined 6-for-8 with two RBI, four runs and a stolen base in a doubleheader sweep of Rutgers-Newark March 29. Her single in the bottom of the seventh drove home the winning run in a 5-4 victory in the opener, and she scored three times in a 12-2 win in the nightcap. Zippler had a perfect week in the outfield, making five putouts, and is now hitting .418 for the season.
