WAYNE, N.J. – Junior baseball outfielder Mike Abate (Wayne, N.J.//Wayne Hills) was selected as the March 28 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
 
Abate hit .800 (8-10) during two games last week, posting three doubles, two triples, a pair of RBI and four runs scored. He went 3-for-5 with a double, triple, RBI and run scored during a 13-11, 11-inning victory March 22 at Staten Island, and finished 5-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, one RBI and three runs scored March 23 at Manhattanville.
