WAYNE, N.J. – Baseball junior third baseman K.C. Abel (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) was named the March 16 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
Abel hit .556 (10-18) with two doubles, a home run, seven RBI and seven runs scored in four starts last week, posting a .550 on-base percentage and an .833 slugging percentage. He was 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored during a 9-5 season-opening win against Manhattanville March 11, then hit an inside-the-park home run, part of a 2-for-4 effort with three RBI, a double and two runs in a 10-6 victory March 12 at Baruch. Abel was 4-for-5 and added a double, three RBI and three runs scored during a 17-7 win March 14 against Keene State.
