Men’s basketball sophomore forward Abdoulaye Ouedraogo (Newark, N.J./Newark Science) was named William Paterson’s Pioneer of the Week for Dec. 31.

Ouedraogo averaged 13.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots per game in a pair of contests at the White Rose City Classic Dec. 28-29. In the opener against Messiah, he was 5-for-5 from the floor for 13 points, adding eight rebounds, while in the consolation game against host York (Pa.), he had a double-double with 14 tallies and 11 caroms.
