Boasting a wealth of success on the New Jersey scholastic level, William Paterson alumna Andrea (Tutulic) Marino was named the head coach of the Pioneer volleyball program in May of 2020.
 
The 1992 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Year and a two-time member of the All-NJAC First Team (1991, 1992), she also competed for the WP Softball team during the 1989 and 1992 seasons. Marino helped William Paterson win the 1991 NJAC Volleyball Tournament title and make an appearance in the 1992 NCAA Softball Tournament.
 
Marino served as the Wood-Ridge varsity volleyball (2006-19) and softball (2017-20) head coach while teaching physical education at the Wood-Ridge Junior/Senior High School since 2013. She led the Blue Devils to seven league titles (2007, 2010, 2011, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) and one NJIC Conference championship (2018) while earning numerous BCSL National (2007) and NJIC Meadowlands Division (2010, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) Coach of the Year Awards on the volleyball court.
 
Marino previously was a physical education teacher (1995-2000) and head varsity volleyball coach (1995-2005) in the Hawthorne school district, winning the 2001 Group 2 state title with a perfect 31-0 record. Under her leadership, the Bears won four Passaic County titles (1998, 2000, 2001 and 2002) and seven BPSL League championships (1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003), earning her Passaic County Coach of the Year honors (1995, 1996, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004; all sports 2001-02).
 
She has been enshrined in the NJSIAA (2018), Legends Volleyball (2016) and Wood-Ridge High School Athletics (2014) Halls of Fame, and was named the recipient of the 2000 Bergen County Women’s Coaching Association Award and 1999-2000 Hawthorne Teacher of the Year Award. She graduated from William Paterson in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in movement science and health.
