Hisham Abaza, a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Elite Professional with more than 20 years coaching experience, was named William Paterson’s women’s tennis head coach prior to the 2021-22 season.

The tennis pro at Maywood (N.J.) Tennis Club (2018-present), he has served as the director of tennis and head pro at Deerfield Beach (Fla.) Tennis Center (2016-18) and as a coach at the Rick Macci Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, Fla. (2008-16).

Abaza has worked with all age groups and levels during his career, has coached players to numerous ITF pro titles and junior trophies, and has served as a traveling tennis coach for professional players and top American junior competitors.

Mentored by Master Professional Rick Macci, Abaza earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing at William Paterson in 1995.
