Kevin Flaherty is in his ninth season with the William Paterson men’s basketball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2023-24 season.
Flaherty has coached on a variety of levels, most recently serving as the head coach of the Wayne Police Athletic League (PAL) 17U, 16U and 15U teams (2013-2017), and as the associate head coach at Morris Knolls High School (2013-16). Previously, he was a Hoop Heaven AAU head coach (2009-13) and Rockaway Twp. travel team assistant coach (2002-09).
Currently the small business sales manager for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Flaherty was a two-team captain at Rider University, helping to lead the Broncs to the 1979 and 1980 East Coast Conference (ECC) West titles.
A Dean’s List student, he graduated from Rider in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in management and organizational behavior. He and his wife Holly have two children, Dari and Connor.
