Former Pioneer Jason Vieira is in his first season as a William Paterson assistant coach in 2008-09.
Vieira competed for the Pioneers from 2000-05, and was a member of William Paterson’s 2001 NCAA Tournament finalist team as well as the 2001 and 2002 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) championship squads. A team captain as a senior, he served as an undergraduate assistant coach with the men’s basketball program during the 2005-06 season, and also worked with the baseball and men’s basketball teams as a volunteer strength and conditioning coach for two years (2004-06).
The varsity assistant and freshman head coach at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School during the 2007-08 season, he currently coaches in the Todd Dobey League at Paterson’s PS27, where he is a physical education teacher.
Vieira completed a bachelor’s degree in exercise and movement science at William Paterson in 2007, and he resides in Rutherford.
