Jason Geleski returns to William Paterson as an assistant coach in 2008-09, four years after serving as a member of head coach Jose Rebimbas’ staff during the 2004-05 campaign.
A walk-on player at Montclair State University when Rebimbas was a Red Hawk assistant coach, Geleski finished his career (1993-95) as MSU’s all-time three-point field-goal percentage leader. Known for his shooting, hustle and defense, he helped lead the Red Hawks to two straight New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and NCAA Tournament appearances.
Geleski became the associate head coach at Division II Felician College in 1995, eventually assuming the head coaching responsibilities of the program. Several of his former players went on to successful high school coaching careers in the Garden State, including Damon Wright at Paterson Catholic H.S., Eugene Robinson at Irvington H.S. and Chris Chiera at Colonia H.S.
A member of the Army’s 1st Infantry Division who served in Iraq as an infantry officer prior to his first stint on the William Paterson coaching staff, Geleski has worked in the information technology recruiting field for 11 years and currently is running his own technology services firm in New York City. He lives in New York City.
