Matt Hewitt

Matt Hewitt joined the William Paterson football coaching staff in 2014 as the safeties coach with recruiting responsibilities in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. 
 
Hewitt was a part of the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills in 2008, then moved on to play with the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League in 2010. He played with the Toronto Argonauts in 2008 and 2009, and the Calgary Stampede in 2011 out of the Canadian Football League. From 2010-13, Hewitt competed in the Indoor Football League with the Omaha Beef and Nebraska Danger. 
 
After earning second-team all-Northeast Conference accolades at Alfred State College, Hewitt was an Associated Press 2007 second-team all-Southeastern Conference (SEC) selection at defensive back at the University of Arkansas.
 
He earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Arkansas in 2009.
