William Paterson University Athletics

James Hickey joined the William Paterson staff as the quarterbacks coach for the 2013 season, and currently oversees recruiting for Staten Island and Sections 1/9 of Long Island. During the 2016 campaign, he also takes over the role of offensive coordinator for the Pioneers.
 
Hickey tutored 2014 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Offensive Rookie of the Year Austin Fellows, as well as 2013 first-team all-conference signal caller Ryan Gresik, who finished his career as the Pioneers’ all-time leader in completions (580), attempts (992), yardage (6,615) and touchdowns (40), including a single-season record of 2,546 yards as a senior.
 
He served as the offensive coordinator at the 2014 Dream Bowl and the quarterbacks coach at North Rockland High School during the 2012 season, this after three falls spent working with the signal callers at Suffern High School. Hickey also worked with the quarterbacks at the 2011 D2 vs. NAIA Bowl and with the New York Nemesis women’s pro team.
 
Hickey played under center at Bryant University (2004-05) and C.W. Post (2006-08). He earned a bachelor’s in physical education at C.W. Post in 2009.
