David Martin joined the William Paterson football staff in 2017 as the cornerbacks coach.
Under his guidance, cornerback Devyn Blount was named the 2019 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive rookie of the Year.
After a stellar career at Teaneck High School where he earned all-Bergen County honors and competed in the Bergen County All-Star Game, Martin played at Division I FCS institution University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2009-11) where he contributed on special teams. He transferred to Rutgers University and was a walk-on member of the 2012 Rutgers University team.
Martin started his career as the defensive back and wide receivers coach at Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, N.J. (2014-15) under head coach Barry Harris. He then returned to Teaneck High School, serving as the running backs and head freshman coach (2015-17).
Martin completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Rutgers University in 2014.
