Christopher Diaz joined the William Paterson football staff in 2022 as an Assistant Coach, working with the linebackers and serving as the Run Game Coordinator.
The Head Coach at Mahwah High School (2017-22), he led the Thunderbirds to three state playoff appearances and the 2019 North Jersey Super Football Conference title.
Previously the Offensive Quality Control Coach for the XFL’s New York Guardians (2020) and Mahwah High School’s Defensive Coordinator (2003-16), he also has strength and conditioning experience with the Guardians (2020) and Velocity Sports Performance (2012-16).
Diaz earned a bachelor’s in health and physical education and K-12 teacher certification at Kean University in 2007, and a master’s in exercise science and physical education in 2020 at Montclair State University.
