A four-year standout linebacker for the Pioneers,
Charles Faulkner joined the William Paterson football staff as an assistant coach during the spring of 2019.

During his first season on the sidelines, Faulkner mentored former teammate
Andrew Anthony, who earned All-NJAC First Team accolades.Â
Faulkner picked up his third all-conference laurel (2018 All-First Team, 2017 All-Second Team, 2016 Honorable Mention) after leading the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) with 11.1 tackles per game (21st in Division III) as a senior. A starter in all 40 career contests, he finished as the Pioneers' career leader in total tackles (362) and assisted tackles (227) while adding 19.5 stops for a loss, 2.0 sacks, three fumbles forced and one recovered.
Inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student-athlete honor society, he was a Fall 2015, Spring 2016, Fall 2016, Spring 2017, Spring 2018 and Fall 2018 Dean’s List student. Named to the 2017-18 Academic All-NJAC First Team and the 2016-17 Academic All-NJAC Honorable Mention, Faulkner graduated in 2019 from WP with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
