Luis Colon

  • Title
    Assistant Baseball Coach
Luis Colón joined the William Paterson baseball staff as an assistant coach for the 2022 season.

Colon coached 12 years of high school baseball at Paramus Catholic (two seasons), Bergen Catholic (four seasons) and tri-state powerhouse Saint Joseph Regional in Montvale, N.J. (six seasons). In 2021 he led the Green Knights to the Triple Crown, becoming just the third team in state history to win league, county and state championships during the same season.

For six summers, Colón was the third base coach and assistant general manager of the L.A. Brewers, an affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers in the California Collegiate League, and won back-to-back championships in 2013 and 2014.

A native of the Bronx, N.Y., he was an all-city shortstop for Salesian High School in New Rochelle, was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame and had his jersey number retired. He went on to play at Caldwell College where he captained the team during his final two seasons. His playing career ended after two seasons spent competing overseas and in the Caribbean.

Colon has trained baseball players for two decades, specializing in infield and hitting instruction, and has used his National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certification to exclusively work with baseball players on speed, strength, core and agility training.
