Jason Tiseo returned to his alma mater as a William Paterson baseball assistant coach for the 2019 season.
Tiseo was a four-year starter and two-time captain for the Pioneers, winning the Lou Greco Memorial Award as the team’s most dedicated player.
After college, Tiseo began coaching on the high school level. He mentored varsity football for 15 years, 12 of those at Bloomfield High School and three more at Millburn High School. For nine winters, he coached varsity track at Bloomfield, and he began his baseball career on the freshman level at Bloomfield for three seasons.
Tiseo moved on to West Orange High School as the assistant varsity baseball coach for seven years, including several springs as the associate head coach. He then spent two seasons as the head coach at Glen Ridge High School before returning to West Orange for three seasons as the associate head coach.
Tiseo graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1997, earning three varsity letters in football and baseball. On the football field, he was an all-county and all-area selection as a senior, and on the diamond, he was a part of the 1996 GNT and Group 4 Section 2 championship teams. His squad finished the year ranked fifth in the state as he was selected to the All-State First Team while posting 58 hits, a school record that still stands today. His senior year, Tiseo again was a first-team all-state pick, making him the only two-time all-state baseball honoree in Bloomfield history.
Tiseo graduated from William Paterson in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in special education.
