Dennis Sasso is in his fifth season working with the Pioneers’ catchers and hitters in 2015.
Prior to William Paterson, Sasso spent four seasons as the New Milford High School head coach (2007-10), compiling a 65-39 record and winning the 2008 BCSL-Olympic title. The 2008 BCSL-Olympic Coach of the Year as well as an assistant coach for that season’s Northeast team at the Senior All-Star Games, he helped to develop two first-team all-Group 1 honorees and four first-team all-Bergen County selections while at New Milford.
Prior to his time at New Milford, Sasso spent two seasons (2005-06) as an assistant coach at River Dell High School, and three seasons (2002-04) as a graduate assistant at FDU-Teaneck. He also served as an assistant football coach at River Dell for seven seasons (2003-09).
Sasso was a four-year letterwinner as a catcher at FDU-Florham, where he graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in history in 2001. He earned a master’s degree from FDU-Florham in 2003, and has been teaching social studies at River Dell High School since 2002. He and his wife, Victoria, have a daughter, Francesca. His younger brother, Mike, is a sophomore member of the WP baseball team.
