WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson tennis team (2-0) won its second consecutive game to open the 2026 fall slate after defeating Mount Saint Vincent (0-2), 6-1, Sept. 23 at the Dr. Ginny Overdorf Tennis Courts.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Senior Isabella Paladino (Leonardo, N.J./Middletown South) and junior Allison Stein (Hewitt, N.J./West Milford) earned a 6-1 victory in first doubles.
• Senior Hilary Valdez (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) and sophomore Nadine Mari (North Haledon, N.J./Passaic County Technical) won in second doubles (6-3).
• Freshmen Racheal Agha (Newark, N.J./Bard High School Early College) and Maria Kozlowski (Augusta, N.J./High Point Regional) were victorious in third doubles (6-4).
• Paladino won 6-1, 6-3 in first singles.
• Stein claimed a 6-3, 6-1 victory in second singles.
• In third singles, Mari won 6-0, 6-2.
• Kozlowski captured a 6-1, 6-0 victory in fifth singles.
• Graduate student Makayla Yancey (Phoenix, Ariz./Ridgeline Academy) made her 2026-27 debut, winning in sixth singles (6-2, 6-3).

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• The Pioneers are 2-0 to start the season for the first time since the 2009-10 campaign.
