Field Hockey Topped 2-1 in Overtime at West Conn

DANBURY, Conn. – The William Paterson field hockey team (0-4) dropped a 2-1 overtime decision at West Conn (4-3) Sept. 16.
  
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Wolves struck first, scoring in the 24th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
  • West Conn held its slim advantage until the 59th minute after sophomore Giuliana Pasquarella (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) found freshman Adriana Mancuso (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) for the game-tying goal.
  • Just nine minutes into overtime, the Wolves found the back of the cage to earn the 2-1 win.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Mancuso scored her first collegiate goal.
  • Pasquarella recorded her first assist of the season.
  • Junior goalie Sofia Chebookjian (Ocean Township, N.J./Ocean Township) had seven saves.
 
UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson will play host to Union Saturday, Sept. 19, for a 1:00 p.m. game at Wightman Stadium.
