Fourth-Seeded Tennis Set for NJAC Tournament Semifinal Matchup at Top-Seeded TCNJ

WAYNE, N.J. – The fourth-seeded William Paterson women's tennis team squares off against the top-seeded and 42-time defending conference champion, The College of New Jersey, in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament semifinals April 22 at 3:00 p.m. in Ewing, N.J.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
  • The winner of the matchup between William Paterson and The College of New Jersey will advance to the championship match and take on the winner of second-seeded Rutgers-Camden and third-seeded Kean. The title match will take place April 25 at the highest remaining seed.
 
WP IN THE NJAC TOURNAMENT
  • The Pioneers are seeking their first conference title.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
  • William Paterson won three matches during the regular season, including a key 4-3 home victory against Stockton March 27.
  • The Pioneers are making their first NJAC Tournament appearance since the 2020-21 campaign.
  • Junior Isabella Paladino (Leonardo, N.J./Middletown South) has won four matches in singles play and six in doubles action.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
  • TCNJ finished 17-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play during the 2025-26 campaign.
  • The Lions went 8-1 at home this season, with their lone loss coming to No. 35 NYU on April 12.
  • Five Lions have recorded double-digit wins in single action.
 
EARLIER THIS SEASON
  • The Pioneers fell, 7-0, at TCNJ April 11 to close out the conference slate.
