MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The William Paterson baseball team (6-13, 0-3 NJAC) was defeated 8-0 by No. 21 Montclair State (19-4, 3-0 NJAC) in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) road game April 2.      

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Montclair State plated a run in each of the first two innings before putting up four in the third to go ahead by six (6-0).
• The Red Hawks tacked on runs in the seventh and the eighth to extend their advantage to eight (8-0).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Freshman Matt Caruso (North Haledon, N.J./Passaic County Technical) batted 2-for-4 with a double.
• Juniors Devin Daproza (Englewood, N.J./Leonia) and Stephen Kubis (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) each logged a hit and recorded a base on balls.

UP NEXT:

• William Paterson will wrap up the series with the Red Hawks Friday, April 3, at Jeff Albies Field with first pitch slated for 3:30 p.m.
