Mantilla Becomes Saves Leader, Women’s Soccer Edged by Wilkes

WAYNE, N.J. – Senior goalkeeper Sarah Mantilla (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) became the Pioneers' all-time saves leader, but the William Paterson women's soccer team (1-1) was edged out by visiting Wilkes (1-1), 1-0, Sept. 3.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • A ball played up the right flank was finished by the Colonels in the eighth minute, creating a 1-0 advantage.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • With her five stops against the Colonels, Mantilla (320) eclipsed the career mark of Maren Fluhr (316, 1996-99) to take over the top spot on the WP list.
