Women's Soccer Earns 2-0 Road Win at FDU-Florham

MADISON, N.J.  – The William Paterson women's soccer team (2-1-1, 0-0-0 NJAC) earned a 2-0 shutout win over FDU-Florham (0-3-1, 0-0-0 MAC) in a non-conference road match on Sept 7.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Junior Christina Jimenez (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) broke the deadlock in the 28th minute, connecting on a cross from freshman Ella Aranda (Wanaque, N.J./Passaic County Technical) to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead.
  • With under 45 seconds remaining, Aranda returned the favor, slotting home a pass from Jimenez to secure the 2-0 win for WP.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Jimenez recorded her first goal and assist of the season.
  • Aranda collected her first points as a Pioneer, finishing the match with one goal and one assist.
  • Senior goalkeeper Sarah Mantilla (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) collected a season-high 16 saves.
