Women’s Soccer Opens NJAC Schedule with 1-1 Tie at Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (5-3-1, 0-0-1 NJAC) opened its conference slate with a 1-1 draw at Stockton (4-2-4, 0-0-1 NJAC) Sept. 27.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Ospreys struck first with an unassisted goal in the 31st minute.
  • Sophomore forward/midfielder Janie Henderson (Stanhope, N.J./Hopatcong) leveled the score at the 49:50 mark when her shot deflected off the keeper and the crossbar before finding the back of the net.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Senior goalkeeper Sarah Mantilla (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) notched seven stops for the Pioneers.
  • Henderson has scored in her last three matches.
