Women's Soccer Earns 2-1 Conference Win Over Ramapo

WAYNE, N.J.  – The William Paterson women's soccer team (6-3-1, 1-0-1 NJAC) earned a 2-0 shutout win over Ramapo College (4-3-1, 1-1-0 NJAC) in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) action at Pioneer Soccer Park on Oct. 1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • William Paterson struck first as sophomore Michaela Kerr (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) converted a pass from sophomore Kiley Hines (Riverton, N.J./Palmyra) in the 6th minute, finding the back of the net to give the Pioneers a 1-0 advantage.
  • In the 53rd minute, senior Erin Clark (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) buried a penalty kick to extend the lead to 2-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Kerr scored her first goal of the season, while Hines picked up her first assist.
  • Clark found the back of the net for the third time this year.
  • Senior goalkeeper Sarah Mantilla (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) tallied five saves.
