Men's Soccer Secures Shutout Win Over Baruch

WAYNE, N.J.  – The William Paterson men's soccer team (4-3-1) secured a 2-0 shutout victory over Baruch College (1-3-2) at Pioneer Soccer Park on Sept. 24.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • In the 64th minute, Senior Matty Escobar (Kearny, N.J./Kearny) delivered a perfectly placed free kick to break the deadlock and put the Pioneers ahead, 1-0.
  • Sophomore Vincent Richard (North Arlington, N.J./North Arlington) found the back of the net in the 87th minute after a two-pass setup from senior Jonathan Antonio (Edison, N.J./Edison) and sophomore Patrick Kudron (Chester, N.J./Mendham) to secure the 2-0 victory for WP.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Escobar tallied his fifth goal of the season.
  • Richard found the back of the net for his third goal of the year.
  • Kudron notched his fourth assist, with Antonio contributing his third.
  • Senior goalkeeper Luca Misko (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater Raritan) tallied five saves, equaling his season best.
