Four Different Pioneers Net Goals During 4-0 Women’s Soccer Triumph

WAYNE, N.J. – Four different Pioneers netted goals as the William Paterson women's soccer team (5-3) earned a 4-0 victory against visiting Lehman (0-4) Sept. 23.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Junior Isabella Sarra (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook) got the Pioneers on the scoreboard in the fifth minute, firing across the box from the left side.
  • Sophomore Janie Henderson (Stanhope, N.J./Hopatcong) doubled the lead less than eight minutes later, converting to the middle of the frame off a pass from junior Maria Funiciello (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley).
  • Junior Kira Collum (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) connected with freshman Samantha Donovan (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) in the 51st minute, making it a 3-0 margin.
  • Junior Christina Jimenez (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) finished a ball from freshman Ella Aranda (Wanaque, N.J./Passaic County Technical) with 5:57 remaining for the night's final goal.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Senior Erin Clark (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) made one save in goal for the Pioneers.
  • Seven different Pioneers contributed at least one point to the win against the Lightning, including the first career assist for both Collum and Funiciello.

  • William Paterson starts conference play Saturday, Sept. 27, at Stockton at 1:00 p.m.
