Women's Soccer Secures 2-0 Home Win Over Bard

WAYNE, N.J.  – The William Paterson women's soccer team (4-3) secured a 2-0 shutout victory over Bard College (3-2) at Pioneer Soccer Park on Sept. 20.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • WP struck first in the 18th minute as sophomore Janie Henderson (Stanhope, N.J./Hopatcong) finished a cross from junior Christina Jimenez (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) to open the scoring at 1-0.
  • Just before halftime, in the 45th minute, Jimenez doubled the advantage, converting a setup from sophomore Emilia Innocenti (Edison, N.J./Edison) to make it 2-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Henderson scored her second goal of the season.
  • Jimenez added her second goal and third assist.
  • Innocenti recorded her first assist of the year.
  • Senior goalkeeper Sarah Mantilla (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) contributed four saves.
