Field Hockey Falls at Union

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The William Paterson field hockey team (0-6) fell, 10-1, at Union (5-3) Sept. 20.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Union took a seven-goal advantage (7-0) into the half after scoring three times in the first quarter and four in the second.
  • William Paterson got on the board in the 41st minute when sophomore Courtney DiPrenda (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) found classmate Sofia Russell (Spring Lake Heights, N.J./Manasquan) for the score.
  • The Chargers tacked on three goals in the final frame to earn the 10-1 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Russell scored her first career goal.
  • Sophomore Grace Jenkins (Bloomsbury, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) made 11 saves.
UP NEXT:
  • The Pioneers head to Reading, Pa., Wednesday, Sept. 24, for a 4:00 p.m. game at Albright.
