Samantha Pricken was victorious in the 50 free and 100 back against FIT.

Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats FIT, 96-66

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (11-4) secured a 96-66 victory over the Fashion Institute of Technology on Feb. 1 at Wightman Pool.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Freshman Katie Antonoff triumphed in the 1000 free (12:23.58).
  • Senior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) posted first-place finishes in the 50 free (25.77) and 100 back (1:02.47).
  • Freshman Frances Gomes (Kearny, N.J./Kearny) emerged victorious in the 200 free (2:21.96).
  • Freshman Dalisha Romero (Perth Amboy, N.J./Perth Amboy) touched the wall first in the 100 free (1:03.75).
  • Freshman Cassandra Ashworth (Totowa, N.J./Homeschool) placed first in the one meter dive, finishing with a score of 154.50.
  • WP won the 200 medley relay, with efforts by Pricken, Antonoff, Romero, and freshman Skylar Coleman (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn), finishing with a time of 2:06.31.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Gomes shaved time off her 200 free best (2:21.96).
  • Ashworth surpassed her previous best score in the one meter dive (154.50).
  • Romero posted a new personal best in the 100 free (1:03.75).
  • Fashion Institute of Technology is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
