Field Hockey Earns 4-3 Road Win Over Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The William Paterson field hockey team (3-13, 0-5) earned a 4-3 non-conference road win over Manhattanville (5-11, 0-3) on Oct. 28.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sophomore Julia Dennehy (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) put the Pioneers on the board early with an unassisted goal in the 7th minute (1-0).
  • Manhattanville quickly answered to even the score at 1-1.
  • Sophomore Ali Stoner (Branchville, N.J./High Point) netted back-to-back goals in the 33rd and 40th minutes to push WP ahead, 3-1.
  • Stoner completed her hat trick in the 50th minute, giving the Pioneers a 4-1 advantage.
  • Manhattanville scored two goals in the fourth quarter, but WP held strong to secure the 4-3 victory.  
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Dennehy tallied her fourth goal of the season.
  • Stoner's hat trick brought her season total to 12.
  • Sophomore Grace Jenkins (Bloomsbury, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) recorded four saves.
