WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (13-9, 3-3 NJAC) earned a 3-0 victory against New Jersey City (12-5, 2-4 NJAC) Oct. 23 on senior night at the Sports and Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Pioneers owned a one-point lead in the opening set (10-9) before going on a 15-5 run to claim the 25-14 victory.
• An 8-3 WP run put the Pioneers ahead by six (15-9) in the second set. The Gothic Knights responded with a 7-1 run to pull within two (18-16), but a kill by junior Kristian Glenn (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) sparked a 7-1 run that gave the Pioneers the 25-17 win.
• WP used a 12-1 run to build an eight-point lead (18-10) in the third set before capturing the 25-15 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior Cecilia Miller (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) had nine kills and four digs.
• Glenn finished with eight kills.
• Junior Abby Houpt (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) recorded 24 assists and seven digs.
• Sophomore Bella Demers (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) logged a 15-dig outing.
• Sophomore Jillian Hit tallied 10 digs.
• The Pioneers honored senior Abigail Hayth (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) and junior Kristian Glenn (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) during the pregame senior night ceremony.

• William Paterson will take on #RV William Smith Saturday, Oct. 25, at 2:00 p.m. in Ithaca, N.Y., before battling No. 15 Ithaca at 4:30 p.m.
