MAHWAH, N.J. - The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (12-2) dropped a meet on the road to Ramapo (3-4), 139-105, Jan. 28.

TOP PERFORMERS:

• Sophomore Justin Melli (Erma, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional) was victorious in the 500 free (5:04.36).
• Senior Ricardo Ordinola (Lodi, N.J./Passaic County Tech) touched the wall first in the 100 fly (1:02.61).
• Freshman Derek Gutowski (Succasunna, N.J./Roxburry) earned first in the 200 IM (2:28.11).
• WP won the 400 free relay, with efforts by freshman Mario Pontidis (Fairfield, N.J./West Essex), senior Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany), Ordinola, and Melli, finishing with a time of 3:36.29.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Melli posted a new personal best in the 500 free (5:04.36).
