WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's basketball team (13-5, 9-2 NJAC) outscored Stockton (9-9, 5-6 NJAC), 23-8, in the fourth quarter to earn a 59-43 bounce-back New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) home win Jan. 25 at the Sports and Recreation Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Pioneers went into the half leading by seven (30-23) after senior Victoria Palladino (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) buried a 3-pointer with six seconds on the clock.
- Stockton took the lead in the third frame after outscoring WP, 12-4, over the first 9:53 of the quarter.
- Despite WP recapturing the lead, the Ospreys evened the score at 38-38 with 7:35 left to play in the game before a jumper by freshman Leilani Pinder (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick) sparked a 13-0 run that put the Pioneers on top, 51-38. WP maintained its double-digit lead and secured the 59-43 home win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Palladino tied her career-best scoring mark after totaling a team-high 16 points while adding four steals, three rebounds and an assist.
- Senior Brianna Smith (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley) finished with 15 points, five assists, three rebounds, three steals and a block.
- Pinder logged eight points and a career-high eight boards.
- Junior Renee Wells (Leonardo, N.J./Middletown South) had seven points and six rebounds.
