Men's Soccer Plays to 2-2 Draw at Delaware Valley

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (6-0-3) played to a 2-2 draw at Delaware Valley (7-2-1) Sept. 26.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Aggies jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after scoring in the fourth minute of action.
  • William Paterson evened the score in the 35th minute once junior Jimmy Bruno (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) found senior Diego Navas (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) for the equalizer.
  • The Pioneers took the lead (2-1) in the 52nd minute after junior Matthew Escobar (Kearny, N.J./Kearny) sent a ball into the back of the net.
  • In the 82nd minute, Delaware Valley knotted the score at 2-2.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Navas scored for the fifth straight outing and now has seven goals in his last five games.
  • Escobar netted his first career goal for WP.
  • The Pioneers outshot the Aggies, 27-12.  
 
UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson will open New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play Saturday, Sept. 28, in Galloway, N.J., against Stockton at 1:00 p.m.
