Two Early Goals Lift Women’s Soccer to 2-1 Road Victory

WAYNE, N.J. – A pair of goals during the first three minutes lifted the William Paterson women's soccer team (2-2-1) to a 2-1 victory at Penn State Abington (2-3) Sept. 14.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Graduate student Julia Fiorito (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) finished a pass from sophomore Christina Jimenez (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) just 45 seconds into the match for a 1-0 Pioneer lead.
  • Senior Brianna De La Cruz (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) doubled the lead at the 2:26 mark off an assist from junior Erin Clark (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley).
  • The Lions got on the scoreboard in the 17th minute.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior Sarah Mantilla (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) collected three stops for WP.
