Men's Soccer Rallies in 3-2 Win Over Centenary

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (3-0-2) rallied to secure a 3-2 home win against Centenary (1-3-0) Sept. 11 at Pioneer Soccer Park.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Centenary took a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals in the 26th and 28th  minutes.
  • Senior Diego Navas (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) inserted a ball into the box that was deflected before junior Seydou Camara (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) riffled it into the back of the net to make it a one-goal game in the 39th minute.
  • Sophomore Jaden Blount (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) sent a ball down the field to junior Matthew Escobar (Kearny, N.J./Kearny) and he set up Navas for the game-tying goal in the 41st minute.
  • Freshman Vincent Richard (North Arlington, N.J./North Arlington) received the ball in the box off a throw in by sophomore Thomas Rogan (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) and buried it for what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the 64th minute.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Camara recorded his first career goal for WP.
  • Navas and Richard netted their second goals of the season.
  • Rogan notched his first assist of the year.
