WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (2-8, 0-1 NJAC) fell 3-0 to Montclair State (8-3, 1-0 NJAC) in a home New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match Oct. 8 at Wightman Stadium.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Montclair fired a shot to the bottom right corner of the goal in the first quarter to take a 1-0 lead. Capitalizing on a well-timed assist, the Red Hawks doubled their lead with 30 seconds left in the opening frame.
• With two minutes left in the game, Montclair State secured its victory by adding an insurance goal, sealing the 3-0 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Freshman goalie Sofia Chebookjian (Ocean Township, N.J./Ocean Township) made one save.
