  • The two teams traded punts until a 48-yard Kean touchdown run (17-6) with 3:11 on the clock in the second.
  • Jennings threw his second touchdown of the day, this one for 16 yards to junior Caleb Rippey (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Jefferson Twp.). WP again went for two but was unsuccessful, and the Pioneers trailed 17-12 just 14 seconds before halftime.
  • Junior defensive back James Nevels (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Military Academy) recovered a fumbled punt return during the last play of the third quarter, and eight snaps later graduate student Connor Katz (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) cashed in the turnover for six points, thanks to a one-yard carry. The pass attempt failed, but WP owned its first lead of the day at 18-17 with 12:39 to play.
  • Kean put together an eight-play, 82-yard drive that culminated with a 15-yard receiving touchdown. The two-point attempt was successful, and the Cougars were ahead 25-18 with 2:23 on the clock.
