Men’s Soccer Celebrates Senior Night with 2-1 Victory Against TCNJ

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (8-7-3, 2-6 NJAC) celebrated Senior Night with a 2-1 home victory against The College of New Jersey (2-11-5, 2-4-2 NJAC) Oct. 26.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Following a scoreless first half, senior Diego Navas (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) got the Pioneers on the scoreboard in the 49th minute, connecting on a pass from freshman Davide Zamuner (Piverone, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Statale A. Gramsci).
  • WP doubled its advantage during the 64th minute when senior Gianfranco Banca's (Queens, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) pass sprung Navas up the right touchline, and his ball played to the middle of the box allowed junior Dylan Nahas (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) to find the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.
  • The Lions scored off a corner kick at the 78:26 mark for a 2-1 final margin.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior Luka Misko collected three saves for the Pioneers.
  • Prior to the match, William Paterson honored its three seniors: James Alain (Haledon, N.J./Passaic County Technical Institute), Banca and Navas.
