Field Hockey Loses Heartbreaker in Double Overtime, 2-1

WAYNE, N.J. – After valiantly playing to a draw for more than 77 minutes, a penalty stroke was the difference as the William Paterson field hockey team (2-6) suffered a 2-1 double-overtime loss to Albright (4-6) Oct. 2 at Wightman Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Lions knotted the score at 1-1 in the 29th minute.
  • Albright was awarded a penalty stroke with 2:56 remaining in the second overtime period, and the Lions converted for the game winner.
