Women's Soccer Draws with FDU-Florham, 2-2

MADISON, N.J. – The WP women's soccer team (0-1-3) played to a 2-2 draw with FDU-Florham (2-1-1) on the road on Saturday, Sept. 9.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Devils scored first, finding the back of the net in the 32nd minute.
  • Senior forward Julia Fiorito (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) tied the score 1-1 with a goal in the 71st minute, assisted by freshman forward Christina Jimenez (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional).
  • FDU took a 2-1 lead in the 78th minute.
  • Fiorito notched her second goal of the game in the 83rd minute with a pass by junior forward Lauren Hutchison (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Fiorito posted her first two goals of the season.
  • Jimenez and Hutchinson secured their first assists of the season.
  • Freshman Sarah Mantilla (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) recorded six saves.
  • Sophomore Emma Timochko (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) made her season debut, posting two saves.
  • The two teams combined for a total of 24 shots.
UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson travels to Patchogue, N.Y. for a 6:00 p.m. non-conference matchup against St. Joseph's University Long Island on Wednesday, Sept. 13.
