WAYNE, N.J. - The William Paterson women's tennis team (1-0) secured a 6-3 season-opening home victory over Lehman (0-2) Sept. 13 at the Dr. Ginny Overdorf Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Juniors Kourtney Hartzel (York, Pa./West York Area) and Sara Thomas (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) earned an 8-2 victory in second doubles.
• Freshmen Hannah Posser (Stockholm, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) and Emily Hoosack (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) grabbed an 8-0 win in third doubles.
• Thomas was victorious in third singles (6-1, 6-4).
• Senior Abigail Malandro (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) came out on top in fourth singles (6-0, 6-0).
• Posser posted a victory in fifth singles (6-0, 6-0).
• Hoosack collected a win in sixth singles (6-0, 6-0).

 
UP NEXT:

• The Pioneers will host Farmingdale State Monday, Sept. 18, for a 5:00 p.m. match.
