WAYNE, N.J. - The William Paterson women's tennis team (1-2, 0-1 NJAC) earned its first victory of the 2022-23 slate after besting Saint Elizabeth (0-2), 7-2, Wednesday, March 29, at Dr. Ginny Overdorf Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Freshman Victoria Nowobilska (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) earned the win in first singles (6-0, 6-0) for the Pioneers.
• Junior Jordan Sweet (Camden, N.J./Brimm Medical Arts) captured a victory in second singles (6-3, 6-3).
• Senior Emily Murphy (Stockholm, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) secured a win in third singles (6-4, 6-2).
• Junior Abigail Malandro (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) picked up a win in fourth singles (7-5, 7-5).
• Sophomore Sara Thomas (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) earned her first career win in fifth singles (6-3, 6-4).
• Freshman Luna Kirby (Leola, Pa./Linden Hall School for Girls) collected her first collegiate singles victory in sixth singles (6-4, 6-1).
• Murphy and Malandro came out victorious in third doubles (8-1).
