Men's Swimming and Diving Fall at Montclair

MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (10-7, 0-4 NJAC) fell to Montclair (6-2, 2-2 NJAC) in their final regular season meet, 124-71, on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Junior Jackson Forrest (Lewes, Del./Wayne Valley) was victorious in the 1 meter dive with a final score of 159.95.
  • Junior Brandon Arias (North Haledon, N.J./Passaic County Tech) posted a first-place finish in the 500 free (5:44.08).
  • Freshman Nicky Byrd (Purchase, N.Y./Harrison) secured first place in the 100 breast (1:15.20).
  • The Pioneers won the 200 free relay, with efforts by sophomore Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany), Arias, junior Anthony Newman (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) and junior Jason Peralta (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack), finishing with a time of 1:48.50.
